For both Kitesurfing and Wingfoiling the starting price for a 2-hour lesson is €100-120, though individual instructors set their rates. The overall expense will vary based on the number of lessons required to achieve your objectives.

For both Kitesurfing and Wingfoiling learning speeds vary for everyone. Some people start riding by their third lesson, while others could need a bit more time and experience with other board or wind sports helps. We suggest at least a 3-day course to give you plenty of time on the water and a good feel for the sport.

Choosing your level

Well, this depends on where you are used to ride. If you are already used to chop, gusty and offshore spots then feel free to give it a try on your own.

Otherwise we would totally recommend to have someone next to you to have an optimal experience. This is especially true here in Fuerteventura where the wind can be unpredictable and many spots have offshore winds and hidden obstacles.

But don’t you worry, our instructors offer different levels of support, from simply watching over you to riding alongside you in the water, so you can get rid of all that performance anxiety!

You might want to consider starting with the “Experienced” option in this case. There are several choices available to help you rebuild your confidence. We suggest beginning with a single class as a starting point, the option to continue with more is always there if needed.

Absolutely! This option often comes at a lower price compared to classes that include gear. Many of our Advanced instructors specialize in teaching this way.

Pro tip: When comparing classes in the Advanced search, you can filter for those that do not include gear to find what suits you best.

Yes, we highly recommend supervision for experienced and  more advanced riders, as well as sessions for discovering new spots. It’s comforting to have someone watching over you in unfamiliar terrain, especially when exploring intricate locations like Fuerteventura.

  3. Select the instructor more suitable for you based on a tons of skills, from language to personality traits;
  4. Book their class directly from the website, we will take care of all the rest and get back to you with all relevant info for you to start the experience.

Right now, other schools usually assign you an instructor more or less randomly based on availability, which can sometimes lead to a terrible learning experience. We want to change that by supporting you in the choice of an instructor who matches your expectations and vibe. Plus, we provide filters to help you compare and choose based on what matters most to you—whether it’s price, language, tricks, and more.

And don’t worry, we handpick all our instructors to ensure top-notch quality. If any instructor doesn’t meet our high standards, we’ll suspend or remove them to keep your experience great.

There are a few reasons why an application might be refused, but luckily it doesn’t happen often.

Sometimes it’s due to a busy schedule, but we always try to manage this in advance by keeping close communication with our instructors. Another reason could be that the weather conditions aren’t great during your stay. However, this is rare since Fuerteventura usually has stable winds throughout the year.

If your application does get refused, we’ll promptly inform you and suggest some alternative instructors similar to the one you picked. And don’t worry, if you don’t find an instructor you like, we’ll fully refund the amount you paid.

You’ll easily see the starting hourly rate for each instructor, and if price is a key factor for you, you can always compare individual classes by price.

However, here’s a little tip from us: it’s not always worth choosing solely based on price. Especially for something quite pricey like a kitesurfing or wing foiling course, those extra 10€ won’t make a big difference. What really matters is finding an instructor you connect with, which will make your learning experience faster and more enjoyable – and ultimately it will help you save a lot of money!

All wind sports are highly unpredictable as they depend on different natural elements, so setting fixed dates far in advance doesn’t make much sense. Instead, we maintain a highly flexible system that allows our instructors to schedule classes at the optimal times.

We’ll always provide you with sufficient notice regarding your class schedule and ensure we’re available seven days a week to address any questions you may have.

Absolutely, you’re in charge!

When making your booking, you’ll find a section for “Additional Requests” where you can include any relevant information for your class. Rest assured, we’ll promptly communicate these details to your instructor to ensure they’re fully aware when assessing your request.

Class & courses information

All essential information for each course or class is clearly specified in the individual offer. This includes details like the number of sessions, duration, price, and visual photos depicting what to expect, along with additional services offered. This allows you to understand whether gear is included, if the instructor offers a pickup service, and more.

We’ll provide all necessary information for your first class once the instructor is ready to schedule a tentative date based on the forecast, typically about 5 days in advance, allowing you to plan accordingly.

The day before, we’ll contact you again to confirm or reschedule based on the latest forecast to maximize the chances of optimal conditions for your class. This will help in making the experience better!

This same approach applies to courses consisting of multiple classes beyond the first one.

Our classes cater to all skill levels – some instructors love igniting that spark in beginners, while others excel at teaching advanced techniques to seasoned enthusiasts. Whether you’re looking to dip your toes with a trial session or dive into a full course, the choice is yours. Need supervision or an hour of advanced training? We’ve got you covered.

There’s something here for everyone!

Just a friendly reminder: if you have any heart conditions or chronic shoulder issues, please let your instructor know in the “Additional Requests” section when booking. They’ll take it from there.

The distinction is straightforward and revolves around two factors: practice time and instructor focus.

In a Private lesson, you’ll spend 100% of your time actively practicing with the gear, which is a significant advantage. Moreover, the instructor’s undivided attention will be solely on you, ensuring the class is tailored precisely to your needs.

Conversely, Group lessons offer a different dynamic. Here, you’ll share the instructor’s attention with others, meaning your practice time is divided among group members. This can lead to a slower learning pace compared to Private lessons.

As a result, we recommend Private lessons for those focused on accelerating their learning curve. Group lessons may be preferable for those who prioritize social interaction, have budget constraints, or are more relaxed about their learning pace.

To maintain quality, we limit our group size to a maximum of 3 participants per instructor. We believe this ensures a more satisfactory learning experience than larger groups.

At Sidekick Tribe, we limit group sizes to a maximum of 3 people per instructor. We firmly believe that lesson quality diminishes significantly with more than 3 students per instructor. Therefore, we advise against opting for larger groups, even outside our platform, if you’re serious about learning.

For larger groups, we offer the option to select multiple instructors from our platform.

Often in windsports schools, there’s a lack of transparency regarding insurance coverage and what exactly is covered for students.

At Sidekick Tribe, we prioritize transparency and safety before anything else. Additionally, we offer enhanced coverage options for those with different risk appetites compared to what specific instructors provide. This ensures you, as our client, have control and quick access to a tailored solution.

Payment & refunds

At Sidekick Tribe, we understand that plans can change. How our refund policy basically covers you in every case except if you don’t let the instructor know that you are missing the class before than 12 hours to the class. For the rest we got you covered:

  • Cancellation by Student:

    • More than 14 days before your date of arrival: Full refund via direct bank transfer.
    • Less than 14 days before Training Start Date, prior to the first Session: Full refund via voucher valid for 2 years.
    • After the first Session: Proportional refund calculated based on remaining sessions purchased, via direct bank transfer.
  • Unavoidable and Extraordinary Circumstances: Proportional refund calculated based on remaining sessions purchased via direct bank transfer, if circumstances substantially impact Training performance or transport to destination (a.o. bad weather conditions).

If your instructor doesn’t show up for a session, please reach out to us through the “report a problem” section of your dashboard, or by sending an email to connect@sidekicktribe.com or via WhatsApp.

We’ll investigate the situation immediately to understand why it occurred. Rest assured, you won’t be charged for the missed session. You can then decide whether to reschedule with the same instructor or choose another option. While such instances are rare and likely due to an oversight, we take them seriously and will ensure appropriate measures are taken to prevent recurrence. Your satisfaction and experience are important to us!

Your funds are held securely in one of our accounts until your class or course commences. Payment will be transferred to the instructor’s account only after the completion of your last booked class.

During this period, you can request a full or partial refund through the “Report a problem” section in your profile or by contacting us at connect@sidekicktribe.com.
