Day 1
You set up the kite and safety systems and begin flying a kite on your own, with the instructor's supervision and safety ALWAYS by your side. You'll learn how a kite moves and why, flying with both hands, with one hand, walking with it, and doing the first simulations of Body Drag Upwind, which are essential later in the water. We'll end the day with launching and landing the kite as the pilot, with the instructor assisting. This day will help you start to handle and understand the kite as much as possible because it will be our greatest ally in this sport, and we need to know it well.
Day 2
We’ll start as always, setting up the kite and reviewing safety systems, then flying the kite on the sand again. If you’ve learned Body Drag Upwind on the sand, it’s time to practice it in the water: body drag downwind and upwind, and kite relaunching are the most important goals of the day, as they will help us handle ourselves easily the next day. You’ll enjoy the power stroke for sure. Today’s practice will build on the second day’s lessons, but in the water, where conditions will require us to adjust what we learned on the sand.
Day 3
The last day of this kitesurfing course! You know how to set up the kite, understand safety systems, can do body drag upwind to regain position, and can relaunch the kite when it falls, so it’s time for a reward: the board. We’ll first try the exercise on the sand before entering the water, handling the kite with the board in hand. Once in the water, it’s time for body drag with the board, steady pull, and finally, starting with Waterstart.
By the end of this last initiation day, the kite bug will have firmly taken hold in our minds and will never leave.
